Christmas 2007 and the Polar Express

Surprise from Uncle Michael and Aunt Marsha! After a short drive through the San Fernando Valley, we arrived in Fillmore CA and boarded the Polar Express! We rode the train north on an old original line that ran from San Francisco to Los Angeles in the 1800's. Along the way the Troop and Omi enjoyed chocolate milk and cookies, sang Christmas carols and got a visit from the Big Man, White Beard himself! After the choo choo took us through orange, lime and lemon orchards we arrived at a Christmas tree orchard, grabbed a hand saw and hit the rows. Once Uncle Michael and the boys found a good one they commenced to sawing that bad boy down. We dragged it back to the train, loaded it up on a flatbead in between the caboose and passenger cars and after some rollicking in some bails of hay we loaded up and headed back to Fillmore. We stuffed the tree into the other Polar Express (sprinter van) and headed back to the Scimo Chalet. More to follow.
