First we said goodbye to some great friends in Okinawa. The Bowmans were a huge part of our time there. The boys had a fantastic time hanging out with their "kid" Mia. We will miss them terribly!
It has been non stop since our move in October! We traveled cross country in our 35' RV and saw the great things the US has to offer. Such as the Salmon running in Washington, Oregon, California, picked up a new English Cream Golden Retriever in San Louis Obispo, Grand Canyon, Santa Fe, Wichita Falls TX, Alabama where we picked up Derek's new car, and my car which was in storage. Then we headed up to NC to move into our new home. I have several pictures of the trip to post as well as photos of the new house.
Sorry it has been so long. I will get caught up now that things have slowed down a bit.
Once again it was the best dive ever. Clear brilliant blue waters with so much to explore. Take a look at what we saw today. A few photos from first time UNDERWATER photographer Aviva. I have to say I really like the ones of me!
This weekend we had planned to dive three times but due to ppor conditions we only were able to dive once. We went to Maeda Point which is up north about 30 min. It is really beautiful there. It was a great dive and very clear. Here are a few photos.
What an amazing experience it was- Sunday from about 8:30 to 4:30 pm we went with about 10 others to the Kerama islands. The boat was captained by a local older man who we affectionately call"Papasan". He seems to take interest in each and every one of us. His boat is the perfect dive boat. Crewed with two other local divers who help him with anchoring, currents, and all around safety. We did 3 dives in three different locations. All three superb in their own way. As you can see from the photos the water is the most magnificent deep blue like I have never seen. The conditions were so ideal. We are so lucky to have made this find. A great setup to say the least. We have made ourselves a permanent part of their "group". I think... since they are really picky on who they allow to join them. Dive ability, boat etiquette, dive etiquette, and most of all safety! We must have made a good impression since we got another invite this morning asking us to join them next weekend if the nearing typhoon stays south of us. We had a blast and I cant wait to get out there again!! The ride out was a little rough but it was only a 30 min ride since he hauled butt. Unlike all of the other tour company's that like to make it an hour and a half ride.
Papasan was so happy to have yet another good day of diving with a great group of people. He speaks very broken English but he was able to convey to us several times "this is and will not be a boat for a bunch of drunk young Marines." I am guessing he used to do regular tours for the tour offices and stopped due to some problems... Either way he now has the right to chose who he invites. I am thrilled to have been a part of it. His boat is fantastic, his price is WONDERFUL, and the people are awesome!!! Hope you like the pictures and hopefully I will have more soon.
We recently became six strong. Consisting of Derek & Anne and our children Nikolas (8) Logan (7) Madilyn (3) and Knyte who is just 16 months. We had been living in Okinawa Japan for the last 2 years and loved it. The absolute beauty as well as the cultural experience was everything we had hoped for and then some. In September it was time for us to go. Before we left Derek had a chance to leave our mark on the seawall down the street from our home. This painting is how we spent some of our favorite times there. Sitting on the seawall with the kids. We watched the sunsets, surfers, and the people walking by. We will never forget our time there.
